Walked out on the deck today to get an idea of how miserable the heat and humidity would be for my run today, and was surprised to find that it was quite pleasant out! I was also surprised to find about 4 dozen little bugs hanging out quietly on a leaf.
Although I often photograph insects, I really do not know much about them. Thankfully, folks end up on my site who do know something about them, and inform me or correct me when I’m wrong.
My little point-and-shoot does a pretty good job with macro shots considering it’s, well, a point-and-shoot. Still, I couldn’t get close enough to these little critters. They are tiny! The leaf they are on is a young leaf about the size of my thunbnail. My only guess as to what they are doing there is multiplying. I’m a bit tempted to stay in the rest of the day, because I’m scared of what might become of my deck. That’s it! Now I don’t have to go on that run after all.
I cropped in digitally so you could see a detail. Maybe they are adolencent Lady Bugs?
