Large Moth

A friend spotted this large moth during a chess game we were playing at Caffe Driade in Chapel Hill.

I tried to get a shot that would more accurately show it’s size, but I still think it looks much smaller in the photographs. It must have been about 3 inches long, and it was very thick-necked. A beautiful creature.

Beautiful images, and great detail. There are some excellent nature opportunities at Caffe Driade, for sure.

Thanks, Scott. Driade is also a great place for a good game of chess. Especially with the accompaniment of pipe tobacco and good friends.
